A Fond Farewell and an Exciting New Chapter…

After many years of working side by side to help shape Arbor Architects, this month, we're saying a warm and heartfelt goodbye to directors Matt and Rachel. Matt and Rachel are embarking on an exciting new chapter: moving to be closer to family in Devon and launching a new architecture practice, Folia Architects, to continue the holistic, sustainable design and architecture that we champion here at Arbor.

After founding Arbor Architects alongside Elly in 2019, Matt and Rachel, have been instrumental in building Arbor into the thoughtful, values-led practice it is today. Their passion for low-energy design, their collaborative approach, and their deep commitment to sustainable, nature-connected architecture has left a lasting impact – not just on the projects we've delivered together but on the whole ethos of our studio.

While we're sad to see them go, we're also full of pride and excitement for what lies ahead. Their new practice, Folia Architects, will carry forward many of the principles we've all shared – prioritising environmental performance, championing sensitive design, and putting people and place at the heart of every project. Over the next 6 months, Matt and Rachel will stay involved with Arbor in a consultancy role to support project handover and ensure a smooth transition for Arbor’s next chapter.

We're looking forward to seeing how their work continues to evolve at their new studio, and hope our paths will continue to cross in future collaborations.
