Updates from Site - September 2025
September has been another month of steady progress across our live projects, with some now moving into the finishing stages while others are only just beginning to reveal their structure and form. Each site visit brings something new, and it’s rewarding to see the variety of places we’re helping to deliver!
Here are the latest updates from Vipassana Meditation Centre, Belmont Wanderers Southside, and the NMITE Centre for Innovation and Future Skills (CIFS).
Vipassana Meditation Centre
At Dipa Block J, the groundworkers have returned to site to install the steps, retaining walls, and pathways that wrap around the building. Because the block sits on a sloping site, the building itself steps down over three different levels, and the access paths will mirror this rhythm with stepped routes that connect the levels seamlessly.
Internally, the building is now receiving its finishing touches. Rooms are being painted, and the timber elements are being oiled to bring out the natural warmth of the wood. With these details nearing completion, the project is on track for snagging to begin at the start of October, marking an important milestone in the handover process.
Belmont Wanderers Southside
At Southside, work on the 3G pitch has continued at pace. The rubber base layer for the synthetic turf has now been installed, providing the cushioning and stability needed for the final playing surface. Around the pitch, the surrounding levels have been carefully banked to create informal viewing areas, which will allow spectators to gather and watch matches from a great vantage point.
The pitch is quickly taking shape as a facility that will be used year-round by the club and wider community and will be a huge boost for grassroots sport in Hereford.
NMITE CIFS
Over at NMITE, the new Centre for Innovation and Future Skills is entering one of its most exciting stages. The glulam timber frame supplied by Buckland Timber is currently being installed, and the internal spaces are beginning to take shape.
A highlight of this project is the inclusion of an experimental beam at eaves level, designed and manufactured by Napier University as part of their research into how British hardwoods can be used in structural elements. It’s fantastic to see research and practice intersect on this build, paving the way for more sustainable use of homegrown timber in the future. We’re especially looking forward to when the roof structure will be craned into place this week, marking another striking step forward for the CIFS.

Looking Ahead
Each of these projects is at a very different stage, but all are progressing with momentum. From finishing details and landscaping at Vipassana, to structural innovation at NMITE, and community sports provision at Southside, it’s exciting to watch these schemes evolve month by month.
We’ll be back with more updates in October as these projects edge closer to completion. In the meantime, keep an eye on our social channels for behind-the-scenes updates and site highlights.
