March Site Updates - NMITE Centre for Innovation and Future Skills
There has been great progress on site over the last couple of weeks!
We’re delighted to share that the extension has achieved an excellent air test result of 0.75 ach - a real testament to the craftsmanship and attention to detail from Firth Construction, especially given the complex geometry of the gabled roof.
The slate roof is now complete, and the flat roof between the new extension and the existing building will follow as the weather dries up. Around the perimeter, upstand slate slabs are in place and battens are ready for the hung clay tiles arriving in the coming weeks.
In the northern courtyard, groundworks have begun for the installation of the attenuation tanks. Inside, the plumbing and electrical first fix is complete and plasterboard is now going up, giving a real sense of the spaces beginning to take shape.
Coming up next:
Floor finishes
Internal and external doors
Cladding and rainwater goods
We’re excited to see the character of the building emerging as finishes start to go in - more updates soon!
